Overview

Six Pack Tr 3, 1:49.2 ($1,939,604), the fastest race-winning three-year-old trotter to stand stud and the second fastest trotter of all-time when he took his record, will be available to breeders in Australia and New Zealand this season.

The frozen semen of the North American megastar son of Muscle Mass will be distributed by Stallions Australasia, whose sire roster includes Muscle Hill, Southwind Frank, Wishing Stone and Trixton.

It can rightly be claimed of Six Pack that he is one of the best bred and best performed trotters to become available ‘down under’.

During his career Six Pack won an unparalleled four races in 1:50 or better, established three world records and a track record and was the USA 3YO Trotting Colt of the Year in 2018 and Aged Trotting Horse of the Year in 2019.

From only 35 lifetime starts he won 19 and was 12 times placed for $1,939,604 – an amazing $55,500 per start.

As a two-year-old he won in 1:55.8 in a division of the John Simpson Memorial at Harrah’s Philadelphia’s five furlongs oval. He also won a division and the $225,000 final of the New York Sire Stakes at Yonkers and won four of his eight starts at two.

At three Six Pack won 11 of his 15 appearances and $1,159,648 – the highest for any trotter in North America in 2018 – set two world records, won two legs of the Triple Crown and was unquestionably the cream of his crop.

He hoisted a new world record for a three-year-old of 1:50, winning a $181,000 division of the Stanley Dancer Memorial at The Meadowlands, before lowering his lifetime mark with a stunning 1:49.2 performance in the $434,000 Kentucky Futurity at The Red Mile.

His 1:49.2 winning effort was put up only 77 minutes after his elimination win in 1:50.4 for the same race!

Among his other successes at three were the $500,000 Yonkers Trot by 7-3/4 lengths in a race record 1:54, the $220,000 Empire Breeders Classic at Vernon Downs, the $193,000 Matron Stakes at Dover Downs and an elimination of the Breeders Crown.

Returning as a four-year-old, Six Pack won a further four races and $581,314 in stakes. He established a world record of 1:49.4 for a four-year-old trotting stallion winning the $145,000 Allerage Farm by open lengths at The Red Mile and capped his career by capturing the $350,000 TVG Open at The Meadowlands in a track record 1:50.

Six Pack raced against and defeated horses the calibre of Manchego 1:49 ($2.7 million), Gimpanzee 1:50 ($2.7 million), Crystal Fashion 1:50 ($2 million), Guardian Angel AS 1:50.2 ($1.4 million), Met’s Hall 1:51.4 ($1.2 million), Fiftydallarbill 1:50.4 ($1 million) and Lindy The Great 1:51.2 ($1 million).

Renowned trainer Ake Svanstedt, who trained Six Pack throughout his career, said: “Six Pack is an incredibly powerful horse bundled with speed and intelligence. He had a flawless gait that made him equally formidable over the half-mile track as well as the mile track.”

Now in the top bracket as a sire Muscle Mass, the sire of Six Pack, was one of the best sons of the mighty Muscles Yankee (1:52.4), and he retired from racing with a stake tally of $229,000 and a world record 1:53.8 in his unbeaten two-year-old campaign. Muscle Mass is now the sire of two in 1:50, including Plunge Blue Chip 1:49.8 ($1.5 million), the equal fastest three-year-old filly of all-time.

Six Pack belongs to a noted female line, his dam Pleasing Lady (1:56), being by Cantab Hall (1:54), the thrice leading trotting sire in North America from Victory Please, by Mr Vic (1:54.4) from Caviar Please, by Royal Prestige (1:55.2), a champion colt trotter and a successful sire in both North America and Europe.

Pleasing Lady, the dam of Six Pack, has proved a successful broodmare. She is also the dam of Limerence 1:54.8 ($278,349) and Bambino Supreme (1:55.8).

Victory Please, the dam of Pleasing Lady, left five winners, three of whom took records of better than 2:00, including Great Success (1:51.4), the sire of the star Victorian trotter Sparkling Success.
